1. Who we are

2. What we collect

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for your name, company, email address, telephone number, the area you are in, which services interest you, and your message. Your name and email address are required; the rest are optional.

Automatically

• Your IP address, recorded with each enquiry by our form service as a protection against automated abuse.
• Standard technical information kept by our hosting provider when a page is served, such as the pages requested, the time, and general details of your browser and device.

What we do not do

• We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We do not use your enquiry to build a marketing list without your agreement.

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

4. Who processes it for us

We use the following service providers, who act as operators on our behalf and may process information outside South Africa:

• Web3Forms — delivers enquiries from the website form to our mailbox.
• Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this website.
• Microsoft 365 — our email service, where your enquiry is received and stored.

We share your information with these providers only to the extent needed to run the website and answer you. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, so that we can follow up and keep a record of what was quoted. If you become a customer, your information is kept for as long as we provide services to you, and afterwards for as long as the law requires. Technical hosting records are kept for a short period only.

6. Security

This website is served over an encrypted connection, enquiries are transmitted securely, and access to our mailboxes is controlled and protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

• ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy;
• ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or obtained unlawfully;
• object to our processing of your information on reasonable grounds;
• withdraw your consent, where we relied on it; and
• complain to the Information Regulator.

To exercise any of these, contact our information officer, Patricia Koekemoer, at patricia@energisebusiness.co.za. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. There is no charge, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
